I have heard a lot of good things about this book and your review has convinced me that I definitely have to check it out. If you are ever interested in reading another great medical thriller, you must check out J. Thomas Shaw's latest book, "The Rx Factor." It is pretty fast paced with non-stop action, and a touch of romance.
Thanks again for suggesting "The Shadow of Your Smile." I can't wait to check it out.

I've always been in two minds about Jojo Moyes, some of her books go straight to the charity pile, others like The Last Letter From Your Lover are savoured, adored and recommended to everything one I can think of. Me Before You arrived last week, I'm really looking forward to it.
Intouchables is a a wonderful film! It's very very funny and makes some excellent points about how we treat the disabled. Some people have said it's racist because the helper is black whereas in real life he was Algerian - the fact is the role was a vehicle for Omar Sy, a hugely popular black comedian in France.

Sounds good! I've read one or two other books by Moyes, which I enjoyed but no more than that. This is one to look out for, it sounds like.

Tonight I'll be going to the film Untouchables, a French story about a man who is quadriplegic and hires an unemployed man to aid him. The man only takes the job because he's on social security and forced to accept the job. Apparently, this is more fun than sad. Maybe one to keep an eye out for.

Oh Boof! That looks like such a great trip! Your photos really made it. I usually prefer to be private and thus would be more attracted to one of those self-serve holiday cottages in Scotland or something and then to go trekking through the hills, but your photos with all those happy people, and all the monkeys and fruit (I've been eating mangoes every single day lately, I love them!) made me want to put this on my wish list. There are places in this world, so so many, that I don't even know exist. I wish I could see the whole world. I would love to travel, but I have never been able to really do it. I've been to England for two weeks, and to Malta (where my parents live) once, for three weeks, and when I lived in Paris for a year I did see a couple of other parts of France, and we drove to Switzerland and flew to Rome. Okay, well, that sounds like a lot, but it's nothing. Nothing!!

I love that you prioritizing seeing the rest of the world. Together with your love of books, you really get out of your own space and expand your horizon. It's awesome.

Thank you for sharing your vacation!
