Message to publishers and authors

Firstly, I love books!  ♥ I love looking at them, smelling them, adoring them and most of all reading them.  

What sort of books do I like to read?

I like most genres and read widely and I am usually happy to give a book a go, although my read more contemporary fiction. I love classics (especially Victorian), mysteries and who-dunnits, historical fiction, chicklit, literary fiction (ok, that’s pretty much most things).

What don’t I like?

If a book really doesn’t sound like my cup of tea though (I’m not particularly keen on books with lots of violence, sex etc) then I will kindly decline the offer so that the book can be passed on to someone who could do a review more justice. I also don’t accept ebooks or PDF’s of a book or self-published titles at this time.

If you would like me to review a book, or host a giveaway or author interview I will usually be happy to do so but only if  I have read the book or author in question.

What can you expect from my reviews?

I will always be honest in a review. I am not a literary expert, but I do know what I enjoy and why (and likewise if I don’t enjoy it). If I can’t finish a book then I won’t review it rather than give it a really bad review (I understand that all books are subjective and wouldn’t want to do an author in injustice).

What timeframe can I expect?

I will always try to review a book within a few months (if you would like me to review sooner please let me know on your email). I currently review books for Amazon Vine as well other ARC’s and beside that I have a huge TBR pile already which I am dying to get through but I am very grateful to publishers for sending me their books so I will always try to get to it as quickly as I can.

When will you hear from me?

 Unfortunately I have had to add this caviat now too, due to the number of requests that I am currently getting. I may not be able to respond to all requests; I will certainly try to but I do have a day job and reading and reviewing books is just my hobby (one I am very passionate about but still only a hobby).

NB/ PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING ALL REVIEW BOOKS AS I STILL HAVE A LOT TO GET THROUGH PLUS WANTING TO READ MY OWN BOOKS. IF YOU HAVE READ MY BLOG AND HAVE AN IDEA FOR THE SORT OF BOOKS I LOVE AND THINK THAT YOUR BOOK WOULD FIT WITH THIS THEN PLEASE DO LET ME KNOW OTHERWISE I WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING REVIEW BOOKS (PURELY DOWN THE THE AMOUNT I CURRENTLY HAVE TO GET THROUGH)

I will always try to respond to requests but please don’t be offended if I don’t – it’s nothing personal.  All books will be considered but I am more interested in classics and mysteries at the moment.
